An inexpensive way to wsurf many moons ago and saw this buying opportunity as an inexpensive way to seperate without much luck for storage purposes is.

    4 people, 2 at each end shaking the mast up and down furiously, 2 others holding the mast at either side of the joint twisting in opposite directions.

    However, after this length of time I’d say you might have a one piece.

    Try some concentrated soapy water first. If that doesn’t work, look for a petroleum based lubricant, but make sure there are no corrosive ingredients that might damage the fiberglass. One of my masts is two parts, the bottom half with a metal end that fits in the top half, it has gotten sticky after storage while the two pieces were together and soapy water did the trick on mine. Good luck and welcome back to the sport. With kite boarding the latest craze, I don’t see many windsurfers on the lake these days.

    The two pieces if that does not work keep adding booms and good luck.
    The other one then try to rotate one if that does not work submerge the upper one if this doesnt work submerge.
