I live in Puerto Rico where we have beautiful beach days and awesome wind, always crowded beaches and never ending heat. I’m an architecture student wanting to try out a new sport. I have some friends who already kite surf but I’m not completely sure if I want to do it to. I’ve always been amazed with windsurfing but everyone I’ve asked keeps telling me to try kite surfing instead. Thanks!

I’m starting windsurfing and am wondering exactly what size gear I should use. I’m 13 years old, average size, average weight. I’ve been looking at sails and think I should maybe use a 4.0 to 4.5 sail (not sure, please tell me if correct). I have no clue about boards or anything else though. Please help.

I am into windsurfing and need a harness. At the same time i consider a floating “device” for safety reasons. Can not however combine a life jacket with a waist harness (impractical) and seat harness i find very uncomfortable.
So could an impact vest with a harness (DAKINE vest p.e.) do the job, or would it be just an impact vest and limit my ability for free movement ?
Should i just go for a waist harness (does it provide flotation) ?

Thanks
Oh, I am a great swimmer the question is what if you get hit while falling (hit on the board p.e.) and you get dizzy.Don’t you need floataion ??

I was wondering if it is possible to windsurf with a broken leg, right now i have the walking boot on and can go in the water and such. It would be my first time windsurfing so i won’t be doing anything crazy just getting the basics, It will be in a lesson
Its not a cat, its one of the removable boots, and i have been in a pool doing Physical Therpy for the past week, i will also have a life jacket

ALERT! I am a noob at this stuff, tell it to me in a way that I would understand, thanks.
I’m looking into windsurfing lessons, and of course, getting the hang of it before I buy equipment, but I don’t have the slightest clue about the differences in the sails, and prices and performance. So…
what’s a good reliable brand I could trust that has good quality equipment?
and what kind of board should I get since I’m a beginner?
